Lisa Brown, Ph.D., R.Psych.

Dr. Lisa Brown completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Simon Fraser University. She started doing Cognitive Behavioural Treatment at the Anxiety Disorders Unit at UBC in 1993, and has continued to pursue training and gain experience in a variety of settings since that time. She completed her predoctoral clinical internship at UBC hospital, primarily providing individual and group treatment to people experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression. She is experienced in treating people coping with stressful life situations, as well as people suffering from depression, panic attacks, social anxiety, chronic worry, post-traumatic symptoms, obsessions and compulsions, and phobias. She can also provide skills training in areas such as stress management, assertiveness and anger management. She enjoys working collaboratively with clients and seeing them make gains that improve their quality of life.

In addition to completing a full doctoral program in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Brown received specialty training in Forensic Psychology at SFU. She has worked in provincial and federal corrections, and is currently working part-time for BC Mental Health and Addictions Services. Her specialized training and experience in the forensic area allow her to conduct assessments and assist clients whose lives are impacted by crime.
