Mahri Brasfield, RN

Mahri is a Registered Nurse with training and experience in the area of weight management for patients who overeat or have Diabetes, cardiac risk factors, food sensitivities, bowel disorders, inflammatory joint disease, or medication side effects that affect appetite and weight control. Mahri’s specific interest is in teaching about food choices for the greatest benefit to one’s own health. She is able to make gradual and long-term changes to an individual’s understanding of how adjustment to one’s diet can improve health and decrease the impact or risk of certain chronic diseases. Her clients may already have a diagnosis of Diabetes or hypertension, or be showing early risk factors that predict a likelihood of future problems with heart disease or insulin resistance. Mahri encourages dialogue with family physicians should medications require modifying or physical changes need closer management. Mahri is happy to provide the North Shore Stress and Anxiety Clinic with on site resources about informed food choices, healthy alternatives, and improved eating habits and lifestyle. She has a personal, friendly and helpful way of communicating to clients of any age. Referrals are welcome from physicians, or clients may call the clinic directly to book an appointment. The cost is $30 per half hour visit, and is not covered by MSP.
